World Book Day – From dressing gown to bunny costume in a weekend

To celebrate World Book Day on 7th March 2013 my daughter announced she needed needed a costume. Her and a friend wanted to be the Hare/Bunny rabbit from Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney.  I trawled the internet for costumes that weren’t going to break the bank but couldn’t find anything they really liked, it was then suggested I make one….well actually two!!

The challenge was set

In the supermarket whilst doing grocery shopping I found 2 brown fluffy dressing gowns.

Some white fluffy material from the market was turned into powder puff tails.

Overlocking the edges was quite difficult due to the thickness of material. Some buttons were chosen to secure the front instead of using the belt, buttonholes were made using the sewing machine and buttonhole foot.
